Dear Parents and Carers,
We've been blessed with some beautiful weather this week, it's been lovely to see everyone out enjoying the autumn sunshine.
On Tuesday we welcomed a large number of prospective parents and pupils for our last Open Morning, we have added an additional taster morning on October 11th. Please spread the word.
Many thanks to those parents and carers who came along to our Year 7 'meet the tutor' evening and to our Year 11 Consultation evening. We appreciate your time and the feedback we received on the questionnaire.
As mentioned previously, one of our school priorities is to implement a wider range of reading strategies to help pupils with their reading and ability to access and understand the curriculum. During our CPD sessions, staff have been planning more opportunities to explore key vocabulary in each lesson. Tier 2 and Tier 3 words are being explored more frequently, please encourage your child to read at home and research any unfamiliar words they come across.
We hope you like the beautiful individual school photos which have come home today; we also had a whole school photo which is stunning and makes me so incredibly proud of Team Danebury! We will display these in reception for visitors to see.
Opportunities for Student Leadership are growing by the week. We have now trained Peer Mentors, trained Well-Being Ambassadors, an EAL Ambassador, Prefects and School Counsellors. Pupils were so excited to receive their badges today and are wearing them with pride. One of our Year 10 students even commented on how empowered she felt having the role and the badge, this was music to my ears!
Have a good weekend, warm wishes
Nicky Goodridge, Head of School
