Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you've had a positive week and enjoyed the sunshine!
Congratulations to our fabulous Year 11s who have now completed their mock exams. We are so proud of their effort and conduct throughout. They are enjoying a well-earned treat as I write this in their post mock assembly. Thanks to parents and carers for supporting them, it's not easy navigating teenagers, especially when they're going through challenging exams.
It feels like yesterday that I was congratulating last years Year 11 for their effort and conduct in their mocks, next week we welcome back the Class of 2024 for their GCSE Awards evening. We are looking forward to celebrating their successes with them on Thursday evening.
Danebury has had another storming week on the sports field. Congratulations to our Under 16 Girls Netball team for playing out of their skins against John Hanson, a tough match by all accounts, but Danebury popped in a couple of last-minute goals , winning 16-14! Congratulations to our Year 7&8 Girls Football team, they played brilliantly in their match against Henry Beaufort, drawing 0-0, a team to watch for the future! Congratulations to Amelia Portsmouth for receiving Player of the Match. Good luck to the U16 boys who play in the Hampshire Cup on Monday against Ringwood.
We have been fortunate enough to have St. John's Ambulance in today teaching our KS4 pupils CPR. The 'Start a Heart' programme is an incredibly vital and something we all need to learn; I know our pupils feel more prepared should they ever find themselves in an emergency situation. St. John's will return later this half term to ensure 'Start a Heart' is taught to our KS3 pupils too.
Many thanks for the donations for Children in Need today, we've enjoyed a cake sale, sponge the teacher as well as a non-uniform day. We've managed to raise more than £500 for this wonderful charity, which is an achievement and will make a difference to children's lives.
As a reminder, as it gets colder next week, Danebury School Coats are part of the expected uniform for all children and sanctions will be given out if they are not worn.
Have a good weekend when it comes.
Nicky Goodridge, Head of School
