  • Year 6 Transition

Welcome to Danebury school's Transition Page for parents, carers and students who will be joining us in September 2024!

    Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our school. We are delighted and excited that you are joining us in September 2024.

Our current Year 7 has settled in brilliantly and are absolutely thriving. We believe this was down to the excellent transition process we put into place last year, along with the support they have received from their teachers, tutors, Year Leader – Mr Thomas, teachers, the Pastoral and SEND team. Parents have been resoundingly positive about the support their child has received since receiving confirmation of a place at our school.

“The recent changes have been incredible. We are so happy at the current provision and leadership
I cannot thank all the staff here for their positive influence you have had on my child since he started in September enough. I would recommend to anyone

The transition from Primary to Secondary School is an exciting and significant milestone in any child’s education and can invoke a mixture of emotions for pupils and their families. We understand that this period of transition can feel unsettling. We will be working alongside you to aid a smooth, positive start to life at Danebury Valley school, enabling our new Year 7 pupils to make the best progress possible as they journey towards young adulthood.

Our Transition Portal provides you with the opportunity to familiarise yourselves with our expectations, procedures and staff and enables us to better understand our new pupils’ and support families.

    Mr Thomas, Transition Lead
    Mrs Cleaver-Bailey, KS3 Progress Lead
Mrs Andrews, Assistant Headteacher for SEND and Inclusion
