As a school, we are constantly working on ways to improve and provide the best experience possible for every pupil, and this includes tracking pupils’ attendance and ensuring we are doing everything we can to support pupils who may need it.
We use Arbor to record attendance, and parents/carers are able to sign up and use the Arbor app to monitor their child's attendance.
We fully accept that in many circumstances, illness is a genuine and unavoidable reason for absence. However, we are directed by government legislation to ensure absence is only taken as a last resort.
If you have concerns around your child's health that we may not be aware of, or if you would like to discuss any support we can offer your child at school or through services connected with school, please contact your child’s form tutor or Head of Year.
Many children and young people worry about school. This is normal. Anxieties are part of life and learning to deal with them is part of growing up. However, sometimes a child’s worries may lead to difficulties attending school. If your child has high levels of anxiety and does not want to attend school, they may be experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
