Test Valley School is celebrating the excellent achievements of their students in this year’s GCSE examinations. The Class of 2024’ have demonstrated incredible resilience and positivity, achieving results that reflect their hard work and commitment. We are so incredibly proud of them all.
There have been improvements in many areas this year, with some of the highest results in the recent history of the school. As a cohort, Progress 8 measures have rapidly improved, 70% of students achieved at least a grade 9-4 in English. A record-breaking number of top grades were achieved, 27% of students achieved a grade 9-7. 60% of students were entered for Triple Science, results are very pleasing, highlighting the high standards of academic excellence at Test Valley.
Nicky Goodridge, Head of School, expressed her overwhelming pride in the achievements of all the students results, “Our students have shown extraordinary perseverance and determination, these results are a testament to their excellent attitude to learning, hard work and the dedication of our teaching staff. Jo McKeown, Executive Headteacher said “There has been a significant improvement in progress for all. This Year 11 cohort showed true resilience and, as well as these excellent results, contributed so much to our school community's development.
Thank you also to our teachers and support staff who have worked with our students to ensure they achieved these excellent outcomes.’ A huge thanks goes to the continuous support from parents and carers too. It’s been a privilege to watch these students grow as individuals, we are incredibly proud of their achievements, and we look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in their future endeavours.
There were many exceptional achievements, and some enjoyed a haul of top grades. Jack Freeman achieved outstanding results with straight grade 9s in all his subjects. Josie Bull achieved 3 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s. Rosie Thompson achieved 3 grade 7s, 4 grade 6s and 2 grade 5s. Sam Judges achieved 7 grade 9s. Asher Paes achieved 6 grade 9s. Avner Cardorso achieved 7 grade 9-7s.
Test Valley is proud of the collective achievements of the Class of 2024. These results highlight our school’s commitment to providing an excellent educational environment where every student is well supported and can achieve their potential. Fly high Class of 2024!
We will be holding our Open Evening on September 11th 2024 6:00pm-8:00pm, this will be the first open evening as our newly launched ‘Danebury School’. Open mornings are being held on September 18th and 24th 2024. We hope you’ll come along and find out more about our refreshed school.
